retirement accounts of millions of Americans. "The New Reality" talks to experts who
analyze the financial problems of retirement and demonstrate ways to richer,
healthier retirement years including personal stories and solid advice about money,
health and Medicare.

Fourteen-year-old Damon Williams is a model investor with 50,000 dollars already
accumulated. Viewers learn how he did it and the role his mother played in his

past several decades, from the Depression era, the birth of Social Security and

In these turbulent economic times finances add additional stress to family life. Dr.
Deana Sharpe, of the University of Missouri, shares tips for family financial planning,
including how successful families identify their financial goals and create budgets to
manage their resources. The Hughes family of Bedford, New Hampshire and the Beverlys
from Henderson, Nevada, identify the strategies and behaviors that have helped them in
their efforts to keep money concerns from damaging their relationship.

WHAT'S UP IN FINANCE? is a fast-paced documentary-style program for teens and families
hosted by Kwame Jackson, runner-up from the first season of The Apprentice, recipient
of a Harvard M.B.A. and founder of the private equity firm Legacy Holdings, LLC. The
program features inspiring stories of teens and 20-somethings around the country who
are taking control of their financial futures, finding their financial footing and

This episode of Living Essentials focuses on employment; how to get it and how to
keep it. It portrays the story of the Anderson family who has dealt with unemployment
for over eleven months. We also hear about the Sorensons who had prepared themselves
financially for unemployment and were able to survive twelve months without a job. We
also profile Ann Brinkerhoff who has focused on education as a means to maintain her
marketability and move up the ladder. We'll hear from employment experts on how to
improve your chances of getting a job and what is expected of you once you have it.

Consumer Cents
ConsumerCents® is a personal financial empowerment training program created by
AAA Fair Credit Foundation. It offers dynamic financial education content, access
to free one-on-one financial counseling and tools to help you learn financial
training life skills. Upon registration you will have access to all of the tools,
resources and one-on-one support at your fingertips absolutely free of charge.
Utah Saves
Utah Saves helps you realize that you don’t have to be rich to build wealth. As a
member of Utah Saves, you can start paying off your debts, and saving to reach
your financial goals. They give you tips and tools to help you set goals,
develop strategies to reach those goals, and to start saving. It is absolutely
free of charge to become a member.
UIDAN
The Utah Individual Development Account Network (UIDAN) Program is an investment
strategy and multi-faceted financial education program designed to help provide
low to moderate income individuals and families with the opportunity, incentive,
and institutional support necessary for them to save for and acquire productive
assets that promise a higher income, new wealth and self-sufficiency. Helping
individuals and families achieve long-term self-sufficiency will reduce poverty
and revitalize local communities from the inside out.
Annual Credit Report
Consumers can now access all three of their credit reports for free once every twelve months. These free reports from Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion contain all of the information that lenders will see when you apply for credit including: Creditors you owe, Balances on your Accounts, Payment History, and more. This site will not provide your credit score for free, but you can purchase it if desired. Keep an eye on your credit report, and don't forget to review them annually.
Opt Out Prescreen
Would you like to stop many of the unwanted credit offers that arrive in your mailbox? Are you tired of constantly shredding credit applications? Creditors constantly monitor and purchase our information from the credit bureau's in an attempt to advertise their services to us. By "Opting Out" of future credit offers, you will reduce the number of pre approved offers you receive each week in the mail. Be aware that this will not stop all credit offers as institutions that you already do business with may continue to send them.
Do Not Call List
The Do Not Call registry allows you to say NO to telemarketing calls. Those who register their numbers are protected from receiving future telemarketing calls, consumers now have a choice. Telemarketing companies must stop all calls within 31 days after you register.

Utah is one of a few states that requires Financial Education prior to graduation. Teachers can use this resource site as a portal to curriculum that can be applied in the classroom. Teachers can really make a difference as they instruct the youth at this vital moment in their financial life.
