Girl Scouts of Utah

by Eleven 16. May 2013 11:15

Like Girl Scout Cookies? So do we. We often think about cookies when we talk about Girl Scouts, but the Girl Scout program in Utah is much more than that. It is about developing character and skills such as financial literacy, business ethics, people skills, and decision-making. Not only are the cookies a delicious treat we all look forward to, they also help fund the Girl Scouts with 66% of the proceeds going right back into the program.

The Girl Scouts don't only sell cookies. They also have camps and other activities, helping girls making friends, learning more, and having fun. The girls don't even have to be Girl Scouts to go the camps. For more information of this great program click here.

Camp Floyd State Park

by Eleven 16. May 2013 10:59

Created by the troops of Johnston's Army who were originally sent to quell a nonexistent Mormon rebellion, Camp Floyd then served as a monitoring post in the Western Frontier and as a way for those crossing the immigrating further westward to move with a greater degree of safety.

Now a state park, Camp Floyd offers many activities for visitors including planned events. One of these events is the Johnston's Army Adventure Camp which has children participate in some of the activities and day-to-day living that troops would have performed during the time of Johnston's Army, making learning history an interactive and fun event.

There are countless other things to do at Camp Floyd State Park. If you would like to learn more about what you can do click here.
